THE
EVOLVING  SELF

Confidential and Professional Online Therapy

A warm welcome to my service, where I offer weekly short-term or long-term online talking therapy to individual adults living within the United Kingdom.

The process of therapy can be an invaluable one. It can enable you to gain insight into your past and present experiences and provide a space in which you feel heard and seen. It can allow you to understand who you are as a person and feel empowered to make the changes to live the life you want within a supportive environment. It is an experience that can be challenging and uncomfortable at first, but ultimately a profound one.

I am a firm believer in the school of life. I believe that we can learn and grow from the circumstances we encounter within our life journey. That as human beings, we can evolve into the wholeness that is ever-present at our core. However, this is not achieved by beating ourselves up for being imperfect but rather in a way that is compassionate and grounded in our humanity.

This evolving process is an invitation rather than a critical "should" that dictates how we live. It means, allowing for space for us to step into with a little bit more understanding and an open curiosity as to what may lay beyond what we have known and experienced so far.

One of my favourite poems that speaks to this gentle evolving is "Autobiography in Five Short Chapters" by Portia Nelson. It speaks to the essence of our ability to learn and grow as human beings.

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Portia Nelson

 Chapter I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

Chapter II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V
I walk down another street.
