About

A therapist

you can trust

Don't be afraid
Your path towards empowerment
Despite the fairly recent de-stigmatisation of therapy, it still takes a great deal of bravery and determination to reach out to a therapist. The process can seem confusing and daunting but ultimately in the end it comes down to your own instinctive personal response and trusting that.

What's important is for you to find someone with whom you can build up a good rapport and feel safe to work with.

The process of therapy is about being able to make changes in your life, both personal and professional, through choice. It creates a safe, impartial and confidential space where you can explore the challenges you are facing, and an opportunity to grow through the circumstances that are encountered within your life journey.
About me

My own personal development led me to the world of counselling and psychotherapy. And I see my role as a therapist as a companion to walk beside my clients as they, too, cross bridges to new understandings of themselves and their life meaning.

I have had extensive training in and work using a range of approaches from different schools of psychotherapy, including, Person-centred, Existential, Psychodynamic / Psychoanalytic, African Psychology and Compassion-Focused Theory, as I believe everything depends on the given individual.

I have also completed a Certificate in Online Counselling approved by the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).

At the core of my approach is the relationship between client and therapist.
I have been providing emotional and therapeutic support to adults and young people for over ten years across a range of organisations such as Westminster Mind, Saneline, Hestia, Off The Record, Ealing Abbey Counselling Service and One in Four.

My specialist interest is in trauma/complex trauma and in particular working with childhood abuse survivors. However, I can support you in working through a range of issues from stress, depression, anxiety, existential crisis, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties and self-identity, to name some.

I strive to create a safe and supportive environment, free of judgement, where we can gently explore together what is going on for you. We work collaboratively, with my role being to support you in finding your path.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am bound by its code of ethics.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am bound by its code of ethics.

In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How  can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?
